Event Description:

Join 20-30 children from Highland Addition for an overnight camping trip near Harpers Ferry. All participants must have come on at least one previous Highland ICO outing. New volunteers, please contact Kris Unger at 703-527-2457 - all new participants require a DMV and background check. IMPORTANT: We need to get the medical form and release form (available here: http://www.flocoutdoors.org/information.htm) to FLOC *before* the trip. Please sign up and submit this form THIS WEEK, if at all possible, and let me know when you've done so. It will be much easier to just take you off the list, if it turns out you can't come, than to try to get the form in last-minute. Please fax the forms to FLOC, at 304-728-7565

Directions to Highland Addition

Highland Addition is inside the beltway in the SE part of Washington DC. From VA - take 395 North to the South Capitol Exit. From DC - take South Capitol Street from the Capitol. Continue on South Capitol Street over the Anacostia River. Follow South Capitol Street (first right over the bridge). Turn left on Malcom X (formerly Portland Street) - Its a right hand exit off South Capitol and then the Left onto Malcom X. Cross Martin Luther King, Jr Ave, Go past the Popeye's, make the next right at the corner past the Popeye's (7th St). Go down to the light, turn Left on Alabama. Turn Right at Wheeler Road. Go down the hill and through two lights, turn Right onto Wahler Place. The new Highland Addition is on the right at 916 Wahler Place.
If you're closer to the Wilson Bridge in VA, you can take 95 North to Indian Head Highway North which becomes South Capitol Street. Then take a right on Malcom X / Portland Street and follow the above directions.

Need Metro Transportation?

We pick up at the Anacostia or Congress Heights Metro 15 minutes before the outing. Those who check the metro option on the sign-up site will be contacted by the metro pick-up person. If you have not been contacted by friday, please call or email the event leader.

New Volunteers-DMV/Background Check (KU)

All new volunteers are required to pass a DMV/Background check. Results are kept confidential. Please contact Kris Unger, 703-527-2457, by the Wednesday before the trip. The information needed is

-Social Security number
