  Join 20 youth from Cesar Chavez school on an overnight camping trip to Meadowwood! We plan to go hiking, canoeing, build a campfire, and do some stargazing.

• HA-Harpers Ferry Camping

  Join 20-30 children from Highland Addition for an overnight camping trip near Harpers Ferry. All participants must have come on at least one previous Highland ICO outing. New volunteers, please contact Kris Unger at 703-527-2457 - all new participants require a DMV and background check. IMPORTANT: We need to get the medical form and release form (available here: http://www.flocoutdoors.org/information.htm) to FLOC *before* the trip. Please sign up and submit this form THIS WEEK, if at all possible, and let me know when you've done so. It will be much easier to just take you off the list, if it turns out you can't come, than to try to get the form in last-minute. Please fax the forms to FLOC, at 304-728-7565

• CH-Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens

  **SIGN-UP BEFORE 8PM THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16** Please join 15-20 children from Columbia Heights and Petworth for an outing to Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens. http://www.nps.gov/keaq/ New volunteers must contact Kris Unger at 703-527-2457 before the trip for a background check. We will provide lunch. Lastly, please remember this is a fun experience for the children and volunteers. We do ask both child and volunteer to respect themselves and each other. • CH-Living Classrooms Boat Trip

  Please join 15-20 children from Columbia Heights and Petworth for an Environmental Education Boat Trip on the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers. Inner City Outings is teaming up with Living Classrooms to participate in the Shipboard Program (http://livingclassroomsdc.org/shipboard_program.html) in which kids will board "The Half Shell" and participate in hands-on activities designed to be both fun and educational. New volunteers must contact Kris Unger at 703-527-2457 before the trip for a background check. For this trip, please bring CLOSED-TOE SHOES. We will provide lunch. Lastly, please remember this is a fun experience for the children and volunteers. We do ask both child and volunteer to respect themselves and each other. If at anytime you do not feel this expectation is followed please let one of the leaders know. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!

• Calendars
  Help us raise money to support our trips with at-risk children in the DC-area. We are selling wall ($11.95) and desk ($12.95) calendars.

• Grantwriting
  We are establishing a grantwriting program to help fund our work with at-risk children. Do you know of grantors that may be interested in supporting our projects? Would you be willing to help write or review our grant? Would you be willing to establish a relationship with a grantor and help insure that our submission meets their needs? If you can help this process in any way, please sign up and let us know how you would like to be involved.

  Do you know of groups that provide funds to nonprofits? ICO would love to be beneficiary of excess funds from corporate groups, parties, or tourneyments. Please let us know if your event is looking for a nonprofit to give the proceeds of the event.
